KH Pelvic Floor
Physiotherapy

A woman holding a pelvic bone model with the spinal column attached.

Pelvic health physiotherapy supports individuals experiencing concerns such as urinary urgency and/or incontinence, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, and provides care during the pregnancy and postpartum journey. This branch of physiotherapy focuses on assessing and treating dysfunctions of the pelvic floor muscles to help relieve symptoms and restore comfort. Alexis creates an individualized treatment program that targets your symptoms and/or conditions related to female pelvic anatomy, with a compassionate and evidence-based approach.

An internal pelvic exam may be beneficial to understand the cause of your symptoms, and to help guide a treatment plan that fits your individual needs. It is possible that we will assess and/or treat the pelvic floor muscles through internal approaches. This is thoroughly explained during the visit with your physiotherapist, and requires your ongoing and informed consent.

Additionally, pelvic health physiotherapy often involves the rest of the body – as things tend to be Kinnected. Alexis believes in a holistic approach to rehab, and approaches care by assessing and treating with the big picture in mind.
