In 2019, Mel earned her Honours Advanced Diploma in Massage Therapy and Cara completed her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy. We each began our careers at different clinics in Ottawa, but soon realized we wanted more—for both ourselves and our clients. 

In 2023, we each made the decision to establish our own individual practices, which is when our paths crossed — working in treatment rooms side by side within the same gym. Navigating this journey naturally brought us closer, organically leaning on each other, and growing alongside one another. After a few conversations, coffee meetups, and time spent watching each other work, we quickly realized how similar our rehab mindset was, and how closely our approaches to care aligned. This is when we started brainstorming about what the future could look like together, beyond our individual practices. 

Together, we envisioned a space where: 

• Clients feel truly seen and valued, receiving individualized 1:1 care that emphasizes the importance of movement and preventative health 

• Clinicians can grow their careers without burnout, and experience support and guidance to pursue the areas of expertise they feel most passionate about 

That vision is now Kinnective Health—a clinic built with both the client and the clinician in mind.
